The Graxaim Formation comprises a coarse-grained continental sedimentary sequence deposited as alluvial fans, being correlative of the elaboration of the upper Cenozoic erosion surfaces. Two members can be recognized in this formation (Pelotas and Gravataí), each one indicates different source areas for the provenance of the debris. (Pág. 54-55). |
